1. What is the one item in your wardrobe you could never live without?
I don't know if Shapewear counts but I would never be without it. It should be a staple in every girls’ wardrobe. Women of all shapes and sizes should have a selection of shapewear. It’s the scaffolding to an outfit, holds everything in place and creates a seamless silhouette. A wrap style dress is another item I always have in my wardrobe as it’s a style that suits all shapes, sizes and ages. I particularly loved the Rowen Avenue dress I wore recently - it was a major hit. I also loved the Pala D’oro floral number – a fun LBD with a pop of colour.
2. Who is your style icon?
The phenomenal Italian icon Sofia Loren. Her style is just classic and timeless. She knew how to dress to make the most out of her sensational, curvaceous figure and is the epitome of glamour. I was lucky enough to see a collection of her items and outfits in Rome a few years ago. It was like being a child in a sweet shop! The glitz and glamour was breath taking.
3. What is your current favourite trend?
At the moment I’m loving the Bardot style that’s around. The elegant, sweeping neckline is classic, sophisticated, sultry and glam – what’s not to love?!
4. What would you never be caught wearing?
Double denim is a no go for me. The only person that can get away with it is Danny O’Donoghue from The Script (swoon!). Him and only him.
5. What past style moment of yours makes you cringe the most?
Too many to mention but I think the denim dungarees I begged for as a teen would be up there. Or the combat pants with the strings hanging off that were around in the mid 90’s!
6. What is the most prominent colour in your wardrobe?
Black and red. I love black because it can hide a multitude and is always a classic choice. I do try to wear more colour but I just feel like with an LBD I could conquer the world! When I do step away from the black and add bit of colour, I love a passionate red.
7. What is your current favourite piece on CarraigDonn.com?
My favourite piece at the moment is this fun, stylish wrap dress by J'aime La Vie. It's perfect for any shape and the ruching creates an amazing waistline. The neckline isn't too low cut so it's perfect even for us busty ladies. The print is bold without being OTT. It can be dressed up or worn with a glitzy flat sandal on holidays. It definitely oozes summer! It’s a total bargain at €59.95 and goes up to a size 18.
